“It helped me pass the FTCE General Knowledge Mathematics Test. I made 3 attempts to pass it using only a study guide – THEN I found your web site. I passed the next try.“

How Do the FTCE Tests Work?

If you live in Florida and are interested in becoming a teacher, or you’re already a teacher somewhere else and are relocating to the state, in order to qualify for a certified teaching position you’ll need to pass the FTCE tests, or the Florida Teacher Certification Examinations. This battery of tests, which consists of four general knowledge exams (one of which focuses on math), is designed to confirm that prospective teachers have the foundational knowledge required to be effective in the classroom. Even if you aren’t looking to teach math, you will still be required to pass the math general knowledge test. This test can be challenging, particularly if you don’t consider math to be your h2 suit. In order to do well, you’ll need to be able to handle the following concepts:

Arithmetic:

  • Whole numbers
  • Integers
  • Fractions
  • Decimals

Algebra:

  • Expressions
  • Equations
  • Inequalities
  • Word problems

Geometry:

  • Measurement
  • Area
  • Volume

Other:

  • Ratio and proportion
  • Probability and statistics

What Will Happen If I Don’t Pass My FTCE Tests?

If you don’t pass your exams in the state of Florida, you won’t be able to pursue your dream of being a teacher. The tests you’re required to take can change depending on your teaching focus, but math is always a requirement, and for many people, math is a difficult subject. Don’t let a lack of preparedness get in the way of pursuing your career. It only takes falling short on one of your required exams to keep you from passing your FTCE entirely, so you’ll need to figure out how to pass the FTCE math test.

The fear of math comes often from holes that exist in one’s foundational understanding. Our study guide makes it easy to fill those gaps, solidifying your background in the fundamental concepts. Once you understand the basics, your fear will gradually disappear. On test day, you’ll be looking forward to acing the test, rather than worried about failing it.

My FTCE Math test went great and I passed. Your program was exceptional. I loved all facets of it. I like the fact that if you knew one component you could take an exit ticket and move on to the next section. The videos were awesome too.

As a math-phobe, I needed as much help on the FTCE math test as could get. A teacher at my school suggested your program. I loved your back-to-basics approach to help someone like me, a 58-year-old who never liked or could do math. I found your instructions and lots of practice questions and tests to be extremely helpful. I took many of the questions over and over again to get the steps correct. I always especially had trouble with measurements and geometry, and I think your program helped ease my anxiety and confront those questions head on. It also helped me get straight in my head the positives/negatives and when they apply in addition, multiplication, etc., as well as how to take a word problem and make it into a solvable algebra equation. It was an extremely helpful program for me. Keep up the great work!
