The Praxis Elementary Education: Content Knowledge (5018) is a computer-based test for those who are in the process of attaining a license or certificate to teach at the elementary grade levels. It measures the knowledge, skills, and abilities that experts have determined as necessary for competent and effective teaching.
This test covers concepts from four content categories: I. Reading and Language Arts, II. Mathematics, III. Social Studies, and IV. Science. The mathematics questions cover topics such as number and operations, algebraic thinking, geometry and measurement, and data, statistics, and probability. The questions are either selected response or numeric entry and a scientific calculator is provided during the exam.
