“Love this TEAS test prep! I’m studying for the TEAS nursing entrance exam, and this is very helpful! It’s better than studying a book, which I was very bored with!”

What is a TEAS test passing score?

The TEAS exam is scored within a range of 0% to 100%. However, there’s no set passing score. Your objective is simply to do as well as you possibly can. Each nursing school is free to determine the minimum TEAS score it’s willing to accept for potential nursing students. The better you do, the more options you’ll have for nursing schools, and the better your odds of being accepted by your top choice.

What is a TEAS test study guide?

A TEAS study guide prepares prospective nursing students for the material covered on the Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) exam. Nursing schools consider the TEAS exam an effective way to measure an applicant’s potential for success in their programs, so it’s critical to score well.

What is the best TEAS study guide?

There are a number of TEAS study guides on the market. Some of the best include:

  • MathHelp’s TEAS math study guide
  • Kaplan’s ATI TEAS study guide
  • ATI TEAS Secrets
  • McGraw Hill’s TEAS review

To determine the best study guide for you, look for one that targets your weak spots and allows for the most efficient use of limited study time. For example, if math is your biggest challenge, focus your preparation on this subject area.

How long should I study for the TEAS test?

The amount of time you’ll need to study for the TEAS will vary depending on your academic background. In general, however, one to three months should suffice. For example, let’s say you have eight weeks before your test, and you have three days a week available for studying. You can budget for 48 hours of preparation in the following way:

  • 48 hours ÷ 8 weeks = roughly 6 hours per week
  • 6 hours per week ÷ 3 available days per week = 2 hours per day

In other words, if you devote 2 hours a day, 3 days a week, for the 8 weeks leading up to your exam, you’ll have a solid 48 hours of preparation under your belt.
