This course is designed to place you INTO College Algebra. If you would like to place OUT of College Algebra, then we recommend our ALEKS Pre-Calculus course.
The ALEKS PPL (Placement, Preparation, and Learning) is the test used by many colleges to determine which course you’ll be placed into. Depending on the results of your test, you could be placed into any course all the way up to Calculus. If your goal is to place into College Algebra, for example, you’ll want to take an ALEKS College Algebra Readiness course.
The ALEKS PPL takes about an hour to complete and is composed of approximately 30 questions.
If you plan to major in a STEM related field, you will most likely be required to take College Algebra. However, you may be required to take it even if you aren’t in a STEM related field.
My ALEKS test went really well. I am entering the nursing program at a community college, and had only done Algebra 1 and Geometry… and that was four years ago! With the help of your course, I scored high enough to place right into the College Algebra course I need to complete my program. I liked that the course started clear back at the basics but worked up to a fairly high level.Havilah Garber - October 2025
I ended up increasing my ALEKS test score from 27 to 57! I qualified for College Algebra at my school. I would say the quizzes after every lesson helped me understand the courses and improve my math skills.Naishawn Ellis - May 2024
This ALEKS program was very helpful and helped me understand College Algebra better!Amairani Lucio - January 2024
