A public community college accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, Chaffey College served the communities surrounding Rancho Cucamonga, California. The College offers associate degrees and certificates at its two campuses and educational centers. The Chino Campus is the main campus with a full range of courses and services. The Fontana Campus was built to serve the eastern portion of the area. The Chino Educational Center opened in 2000 to provided classes for the southwestern portion of the district. The Robert Pile Information Technology Center offers courses designed to train students to become employees of the technology industry. To enroll at the college, a student must be a high school graduate or have high school equivalency or be at least 18 years old and able to benefit from its courses. Students may submit high school transcripts, GED scores, or a Certificate of Proficiency. During the application process, students must attend orientation and participate in an assessment interview for placement into English and Mathematics courses. Placement testing will no longer be required. Students may also submit ACT or SAT scores to be used for placement.
The Associate in Science Degree in Child Development is one of the options for students interested in the field of education. This degree prepares graduates to work in the childcare industry. For students who wish to begin their education at the college and transfer to complete a teaching degree, the college offers an Associate of Science degree Transfer, which allows the student to continue studies in the State University System. The college offers an Associate Degree Nursing Program. Admission to this program requires students to submit transcripts showing a GPA of at least 2.8 in prerequisite science courses, a GPA of 3.0 for all general education courses, and a score not less than 62% on the ATI TEAS examination. Students who successfully complete the program may become registered nurses by passing the NCLEX-RN licensure exam. Graduates may also choose to transfer to complete a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. The college has a transfer agreement with California State University, Fullerton for this purpose. The Nursing Program is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing, Inc. and approved by the State Board of Registered Nursing.
