The Texas PACT tests, or Pre-Admission Content Tests (PACT) are taken by those who are seeking admission to an alternative certification program or an educator program for those who already hold a bachelor’s degree. These exams are not the teacher certification exams (TExES tests) that are normally required to be taken when applying for certification in Texas. The TX PACT Essential Academic Skills Test (EAS), uses three subtests to measure skills in Reading (701), Writing (702), and Mathematics (703). The mathematics subtest contains questions covering the following concepts: problem solving and reasoning, probability and statistics, geometry and measurement, algebra, number properties and operations. The test is taken on a computer and consists of multiple-choice questions.
