What is the SHSAT Grade 9 Test?

The Specialized High Schools Admissions Test, or SHSAT Grade 9, is administered to ninth grade students attending public schools in New York City. Students seeking admission to eight of the nine specialized high schools must take and pass this exam. Approximately 5,000 students are accepted into these schools each year.
