What is the RISE Test?

The RISE, or Reinforced Instruction for Student Excellence, placement test evaluates whether a student is ready for college-level courses in math and English. The English portion of the test consists of 2 tiers while the math section has 3 tiers. Students must score at least 70 on each tier to advance to the next tier. The test is untimed.

Not all students will be required to take the exam as high school gpa and other measures may be used for placement. However, students who are not recent high school graduates, international students, or students without high school credentials may need to take the exam. It is recommended that students take time to thoroughly prepare for the test.
