I passed my TSI and couldn’t have done it without this site! Thank y’all so much! Everything was very helpful since I haven’t been in high school since 2013 so most of it was like learning it for the first time and was so easy to understand! Thank y’all!

This program was very helpful and beneficial. I ended up passing the TSI. I think the biggest help was the “work” part of the problems and tests where I could see where I went wrong. Thank you.

Wanted to say thanks so much for putting together the Mathhelp curriculum for people like me. Without all the content I would not have been successful on the TSI placement test. The most helpful was definitely the factoring, exponent rules and fractions involving radicals since you see a lot of that on the test. Overall it was very easy to learn and follow and built my confidence up and helped me be successful. I scored a 350 out of a possible 390 according to my advisor and now I’m in my second week of college algebra on a summer mini semester! Thanks to all of you and keep up the good work. I made a suggestion to my school that they should recommend your site to people like me as a prep for the placement test.

My TSI went well and I passed all portions of the test. I found every section of your course extremely helpful. I appreciate all the help your lessons provided and couldn't have asked to find a better TSI study guide. Thanks again.

Extremely helpful. I haven't studied math in like 5 years but I enrolled in the TSI test and I absolutely killed the TSI math test. The lessons are concise, straight to the point and covers every aspect

What is El Paso Community College known for?

El Paso Community College has five campuses within the city as well as four learning centers.  The main campus is the Valle Verde Campus.  Serving citizens in the eastern part of town is the Mission del Paso Campus.  The western part of the area is served by the facilities of the Northwest Campus.   In 1975, the first building of the college was opened at the site of what is now the Rio Grande Campus.  Classes and services are provided for the people in the northeastern portion of the city by the Transmountain Campus.  The college is accredited to award associate degrees and certificates.  The accrediting board is The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges.  The college serves many students as evidenced by the student population of 28,750 in the year 2017-2018.

The admissions policy is open enrollment.  High school transcripts or GED scores must be sent to the admissions office when applying. New students are required to take the TSI Assessment which measures basic skills in Mathematics, Writing, and Reading.  Some students may bypass these placement tests with certain SAT or ACT scores.  Exemption from the placement testing may also be based on TAKS scores or STAAR test scores.  Students who need a high school equivalency diploma can take the exams in the testing center which administers the GED test as well as the HiSET test.  The state also approves TASC test scores.   Students from foreign countries have several options showing proficiency with English including scores on the TOEFL exam.  Participation in the English Language Program is an alternative to testing.

A variety of programs are available for associate degrees, certificates, continuing education, and workforce training.  In Nursing, a popular choice is the Associate of Applied Science program.  A score of 80% on the ATI TEAS exam is one of the admissions criteria for this program.  Successful completion of the two-year course qualifies graduates to become registered nurses upon passing the licensing exam (NCLEX-RN).  Other nursing options are the vocational nursing program and a program that allows transition from the Licensed Vocational Nurse to the Registered Nursing program.   In the state of Texas teacher certification requires a bachelor’s degree in addition to passing certification tests such as the TExES exams.  The college offers an Associate of Arts in Teaching degree program which enables graduates to complete a bachelor’s degree at a university.  Students may choose early childhood to grade 6, grades 4 to 8, secondary, and special education.  Future firefighters can earn the Associate of Applied Science degree in Basic Firefighter Courses.  Upon completion of the degree, a state required certification exam is taken.  Upon completing the Basic Peace Officer Certification courses students are eligible to sit for the State Licensing Examination.
