Students learn that multiples of a number come from multiplying the given number by whole numbers. For example, 3 x 0 = 0, 3 x 1 = 3, 3 x 2 = 6, 3 x 3 = 9, 3 x 4 = 12, 3 x 5 = 15, etc., so 0, 3, 6, 9, 12, and 15 are all multiples of 3. Students also learn that the Least Common Multiple is the smallest multiple that two numbers have in common (not including zero).
